I’ve contributed articles to, among others, the Daily Telegraph, FourFourTwo Magazine and The Local in Sweden. I also worked for Radio Sweden, the English language international service of Swedish public service radio, for whom I wrote, presented and edited news bulletins and special features and interviews on a variety of topics. I am currently freelancing for Eurosport. Here are links to some of my articles:
SWEDEN
Just before England played Sweden at the 2006 World Cup, I wrote a piece for the Daily Telegraph, the largest selling broadsheet newspaper in England. The article focused on Swedish hopes and expectations, and on the way football had given Swedish immigrants a sense of belonging. Read it here.
HENRIK LARSSON
I was commissioned to write a piece for FourFourTwo about the homecoming of Swedish superstar footballer Henrik Larsson. The article appeared in July 2006. A longer version was printed in The Local and you can read it here.
BEER
Much-maligned Swedish beer is heading for a makeover. I investigated the budding world of microbreweries in a country with one of the strictest set of alcohol laws in the world. Read all about it here.
STOCKHOLM FILM FESTIVAL
I reported on the prestigious Stockholm Film Festival, where I interviewed Ryan Fleck (director, Half Nelson), Paul Williams (director, London to Brighton) and Maria Ripoll (director, Your Life in 65 Minutes). You can read my preview of the festival here, and my review here.
CLAUDIO TAMBURINNI
Dr. Tamburinni escaped from a clandestine prison in Buenos Aires during the military dictatorship of the late 1980s. He ended up as a political refugee in Sweden, where he built up a new life and became a doctor of philosophy. Here’s my interview with him.
RADIO SWEDEN
Here’s a voice sample. It’s me reading the news.
